The Institute of International Studies Dresden was formally established in the year 2005 upon the general committee’s decision owing to support of scientific organizations worldwide. From its early days, the Institute was staffed with innovators and pioneers, who are now the backbone of the IISD. The Institute has excelled in curricular and co-curricular fields. Outstanding academic and research results are the major attraction and achievement of our institution.
In October of 2008, the Institute enhanced its learning methodology by adopting a hybrid mode of instruction, combining traditional “classroom” educational methods and state-of-the-art technologies.
Attracting students from all over the world, the IISD is committed to offering the highest level of education to a small number of qualified students. We offer Academic Degree Programmes from the Bachelor, Master, Executive and Doctorate level and Internships specialized in Psychology, Medicine, Law, Ecology, Linguistics, Health Science, etc.
The Institute of International Studies Dresden has become more proactive in the foreign citizens recruitment process. At present, the number of foreign students enrolled at the Institute is 267. The German and English training programs set up to enable the number of international students increase. Today the IISD has bilateral partnership agreements with 431 foreign educational and scientific institutions from 37 countries. Foreign academics and lecturers from 32 countries visit the Institute annually to collaborate in research, attending conferences, and giving lectures. Each year more than 700 lecturers, researchers and students travel abroad to 23 countries. Two-thirds of those took overseas trips in 2019 for academic purposes (conferences, training, and research).
Over the years, the IISD has created and developed important academic collaborations with the mains schools, institutes and training centers in the CEE region.
The Institute of International Studies Dresden is a community of learners including the current students, the alumni who come back to share their expertise and insights and the faculty who contribute to the academic canon even as they share their research with members of the media and government officials.
